This family covers both Cumberland and Westmorland. My g g grandfather was John Allan O'Neal born in Kendal in 1840. He eventually moved to Carlisle and for some reason dropped the O'Neal part of his name (until I found this out he was a huge brickwall in my research!) from then on. His son Hugh moved to Wigton and married Mary Ann Bell and their daughter Sarah Lizzie was my grandmother.
Any connections there with anyone?
